But there's a problem...

- 1980x1200
- 1650x1050

Those aren't standard, and, as far as I know, don't even exist as such. You may want to use 1680x1050 (20" iMac, WSXGA+, 16:10) and 1920x1200 (24" iMac, WUXGA, 16:10).

You may want to do a second version of this with the transparent colour stripes behind the mesh, and/or with a partially transparent black or white overlay over the whole thing?
